Smell the Roses

Stop and smell the roses?
I don’t have to stop.
I mosey down the footpath
Caught up in my thoughts.

In this instant world,
I defy the trends:
Rambling along,
Making time to spend.

To those who are behind me
I apologize.
If you’re in a hurry,
Pass me — I don’t mind.

Rushing, rushing, rushing:
The world may pass me by.
I am happy strolling,
Taking all in stride.

Join me? We can wander
To see and smell the roses,
Amble through the garden,
Enjoying the aromas.
