As a child, my mom allowed me to experiment with her makeup in the privacy of her bedroom as much as I wanted. I was not allowed to wear it out of the house, having to wash off the bright pink smudged lips and electric blue raccoon eyes shortly after I applied them. I was happy with this, as it was fun to play with the colours but I really had no desire to wear it in public.
