I agree to a point. I don’t like policing people’s expression. And you don’t always know a creator’s background/identity. I follow a trans writer on Twitter who wrote several m/m novels when he was still presenting as a woman.

However, there is definitely more possibility of problems when someone is writing something they cannot understand. That’s why sensitivity readers are so important.
