Even worse:

“I love you.”

“Me too.”

It’s like nails on a chalkboard whenever I hear this exchange. When you respond with “me too” when someone says “I love you”, you are saying you love yourself too!

We need to stop and think about what we’re saying. I 100% agree with you: Love should never be a thoughtless response.
